Foreign Glass Similar in design to ABP

Section 1 - European

Frequently, foreign glass is represented as ABP. Similar motifs are used and some of the work is quite well done, however, the source of the glass is European, frequently Czech, and usually recently manufactured. Please take a look at the pieces below. The unpolished stars and cross-hatch/Kohinoor areas are very characteristic of such glass. The unpolished technique is seldom seen in true ABP.

Section 2 - Turkish/Other

The Yasemin Glass Co. in Turkey produced some very attractive, modern cut glass similar to ABP in appearance. Frequently signed in a difficult to read cursive signature etched with a diamond pencil. Pieces tend to be large and intricately cut. Some giveaways are very narrow (and closely spaced) sawteeth with sharp points, not broad, rounded teeth like ABP. Fans tend to have many, thin rays also. The glass is not as refractive as ABP and the designs are flatter and less brilliant.

Warren Biden has discovered a Yasemin catalog among Mrs Swan's files. He has posted it on his website. Very interesting.
