Welcome to Brilliant Cut Glass Pattern
Search maintained by Greg Randall. This site is designed to be of help to collectors of
American Brilliant Period Cut Glass (ABP Glass) who have un-identified pieces in their
collections. Its prime purposes are: education; help; and encouragement (please
scroll
down).
Please use the Buttons at the left to navigate to
the desired page.

 | Participants may submit pictures of their
pieces, which will be posted in the Gallery of
Unknowns. Send high
quality pictures and descriptions by email
(click on word email).
Please include as much descriptive information as possible. Size,
signatures, unusual features, etc. can be very helpful. If you do not have
digital pictures, please notify me by email and pictures can be sent by mail
and scanned. Owners of the pieces will not be identified unless they so request.
NOTE: the Gallery of Unknowns was split into multiple pages
on 10/21/06 to make loading faster. See Gallery-Unknowns
2 or Gallery-Unknowns 3 or
Gallery-Unknowns 4 (newest) buttons
on the left, above. |
 | Suggested identifications may then be submitted by anyone
to the
same email above and will be posted for review and discussion. Catalog
citations, Company documents (internal notebooks, patent documents, etc.) or advertisements are the best corroboration of ID. Other sources
(books, articles, anecdotal material, similarities) will be given less
weight and considered as 'possible', 'attributed to' or 'likely'. |
 | Once an identification is made the picture will be
transferred to the Gallery of Success and the person making the
identification will be enshrined in glory. |
 | The ABP Forum is a
discussion-board where anyone can post questions, observations, information,
etc. regarding American Brilliant Cut Glass. This feature is currently
disabled due to spammer abuse. |
 | While I am a member of the American Cut Glass
Association and its Columbia Chapter, this website is not affiliated with that organization and is
not intended to compete with nor replace their official Pattern
Identification Committee. Identifications suggested here are not
authoritative and represent the opinions of the participants. |
 | For more information about American Brilliant Cut Glass,
please see the ACGA website at http://cutglass.org/.
I strongly encourage any collector of this beautiful glass to participate in
ACGA at the local, Chapter level as well as with the national Association. |
 | Pieces listed are NOT for sale on this site. |
